The Oriel Lliw Gallery in Pontardawe Arts Centre, Herbert Street, Pontardawe SA8 is a fabulous venue in which to view and purchase high quality artwork. The Arts in the Tawe Valley Group coordinate and curate this space for the benefit of artists, the local community and visitors alike. The Gallery has a diverse array of some of the finest examples of our members work. With rolling exhibitions throughout the year we will be showcasing our creative ideas, individual members artwork and inviting exciting exhibitions from artists outside of the community.

A close relationship with the Gower coast has provoked an on-going series of work, most recently paintings have been inspired by the poetry of Vernon Watkins, the Welsh metaphysical poet who also lived on the coast of Gower. The concept of space, both actual and pictorial, implications of time and space, movement through shifting tidelines, weather and light materialise in these paintings. ‘Four Seasons’ – Is an installation of paintings inspired by the seasons in South Wales. Amanda Loves the natural beauty here in Wales and has painted a selection of new paintings to celebrate this. Her inspiration comes from local places she visits. This exhibition showcases not only the work of Amanda Dagg but also includes selected works from Arts in the Tawe Valley members in the shop area. The exhibition runs until the 18th June.
Tawe Valley Art Competition 2018 2nd March – 23rd April 2018
Arts in the Tawe Valley’s annual art competition begins on 2nd March from 7pm – 10pm at the Oriel Lliw Gallery in the Pontardawe Arts Centre when the public voting begins. You have until the 6th April to view the work and vote for your favourite pieces. On the 6th April the judges will be voting and prizes for all the winners will be awarded. Bethan Ash is a quilt artist who loves to paint. Her work, while based in the tradition of quilt-making, is in fact more akin to collage and this exhibition will display a colourful selection of her art quilts and collages. More about this exhibition here>>
